About the Player
John J. McGraw says: 'But Hanlon was a wise manager in ways that I did not appreciate. He thought me a little inexperienced for second base and made a deal by which he got “Cub” Stricker, a second baseman of reputation and experience. I was benched again. Hanlon offered to farm me out to the Mobile, Ala., club, but I protested so violently against going that he consented to let me stay on the bench.'
About the Series
The glory of 19th century design is revisited in this series by your friends at Helmar. We've kept the look of the early line drawings but improved them so that the players are recognizable. Yet again, all the artwork is original to Helmar and printed in stunning color. We've chosen a beautiful paper with a soft hand that tested best for the subtle color transitions. Each card is about 3' x 5'.
