About the Player
The short bio from the Helmar-R319 card back: Babe and Lou are the toast of New York and the most famous one-two punch in baseball. Babe gets the lions’ share of the glory because of the 60 homers that he hit last season, but the comicaly named “Biscuit Pants” Gehrig may have actually had the better season. Lou beat the Babe in hits (218-192), doubles (52-29), triples (18-8), RBI’s, batting average (.373-.356), and total bases (447-417). The boys have been teammates for five seasons now, and the team has really become the greatest powerhouse in the big leagues. They also barnstorm together in the off season.
About the Series
Inspired by the Hassan triple folder cards of 1912, one of the most beloved card sets of all time, Helmar T202s seek to pay homage to many of the greats of the game, with two colorful side portraits and a black-and-white central panel. Each card is sized about 2.25' x 5.25'.
