About the Player

A short bio from the Boston Garter Game of the Century card back: With Ruth slowing down, Gehrig is the marquee name in NY now. Last year he led the Yankees in home runs with 42 and runs batted in with 151. Laruppin’ Lou is a fan favorite around the league, and he almost doubled the votes received by Jimmie Foxx for the first base position. Not long after the Game of the Century is played, around mid-August, the brawny Gehrig will break the record for consecutive games played, now held by former Bos/NY ss Everett Scott. Blasted 4 homers in one game last summer. Lou also has a girl now, E. Twitchell of Chicago. They say it’s serious.

About the Series

There have been baseball themed games almost as long as the game of baseball has been around. The first baseball parlour game, for example, was advertised in the December, 1866 installment of Leslie Magazine—just a year after Lincoln's assassination! Hundreds of games since that date have delighted fans. However, never to our knowledge has anyone married baseball stars with the popular hand puzzles that were so popular from about 1890 to 1965—until now. We think that you'll spend more quality time with these games than much of the rest of your collection. 2.5" diameter, two sided, glass both sides.  Note: puzzles #5 Alexander, 6 Walsh, 20 Ewing, 25 Tinker and 27 Wilson were not issued due to a manufacturing error.

27 puzzles of each number have been produced.
