About the Player
From his Helmar-R319 card: “Babe” has pitched 19 years in the big leagues, compiling 194 wins against 140 losses, and a 2.76 ERA. In the 1909 World Series against the Tigers, Babe pitched three complete games, winning all of them, and letting up only four runs over the 27 innings: one of the greatest World Series performances of all time. 16 years later, at the age of 43, in the ’25 World Series against the Washington Senators, Babe pitched one inning, surrendering two hits but zero runs. Babe hails from Tipton, Indiana. This Hoosier throws from the right side, bats from the left. He stands 5’11” and weighs 185 pounds.
About the Series
The glory of 19th century design is revisited in this series by your friends at Helmar. We've kept the look of the early line drawings but improved them so that the players are recognizable. Yet again, all the artwork is original to Helmar and printed in stunning color. We've chosen a beautiful paper with a soft hand that tested best for the subtle color transitions. Each card is about 3" x 5".
