About the Player
The short bio from the Helmar-R319 card back: “Bucky” started his pro career as a pitcher, gathering 5 wins against 6 losses in Class C in 1929. He turned his back on pitching, and switched to third base, rising through the ranks and hitting .376 for Mission in the Pacific Coast League in 1933, before joining the Red Sox to hit .256. In a partial season with the Braves in ’32 he hit .187. Born in the City of Brotherly Love, Bucky bats right and throws right. He is 6’1” and 192 pounds. He’s considering a switch back to pitching.
