Ending April 30, 2024

As of this writing six Boston players are found in the second series of Helmar's baseball cabinet cards. The earliest player is Chick Stahl (1897-1906), a solid .305 hitter over a decade. Unfortunately, he is best remembered for his tragic suicide during the spring training of 1907. He had just turned 34 years old. The second card, also a Red Sox player, is a masterfully colored Dom DiMaggio. Hall of Famer Al Simmons appears late in his career with the Bees and a beautiful Hugh McQuillan, shown with the Braves circa 1918, rounds out the crew. The McQuillan is notable for the close up view of the iconic felt Braves logo on his chest. Other Boston players included are Red Ruffing and a classic pose of Jimmie Foxx.
