About the Player
A short bio from the Helmar-R319 card back: “Prince Hal”, as he is known, is the sweetest fielding first sacker the game has known. His work around the bag is a thing to behold; he can hug the line to stop a liner or move well in the other direction to knock down a ground ball. He joins the Reds after two seasons playing for Buffalo in the Federal League. Last year there he batted .291, so he still has some jump left in his bat.
About the Series
Rough and tumble early 20th century players spring to life in our new series of Helmar Cabinets. True to the period, the player images are separate and have been pasted to a colorful, ripple-edged scene of a ballpark.Collect this series and you’ll understand why Helmar is called “The Flavor of the Game”. Card size: 4” x 6”Individually hand-numbered; only 20 of each have been produced.
