Perhaps no city was more baseball crazy in the early twentieth century than Chicago. The game was played by two major league clubs, a Federal League entry, numerous "black ball" teams, industrial and semi-professional leagues as well as thousands of amateur clubs. Consequently, there are an enormous number of Chicago subjects in the Helmar T206 series--seventy-nine, to be precise. The Hall of Fame is represented by twenty-two cards, more than any other city. Other popular cards include players from the 1919 "Black Sox" including Joe Jackson, Chick Gandil and Buck Weaver.
