In 1914 and 1915 Brooklyn fielded a team in the upstart Federal League. The team was owned by baking magnate Robert Ward and named the "Tip-Tops" in honor of his best selling bread. They were also commonly known as the Brooklyn Feds or the BrookFeds. They played at Washington Park, very familiar to Brooklyn ball fans and the home field of the Dodgers until 1912. Charles Mandel, who designed this series, has a strong interest in the Federal League and as a result a remarkable twenty-one Brooklyn Tip-tops can be found in this series. The Hall of Fame is represented by a single card, that of Mordecai Brown (card #32). It is the most popular card in this subset. In other considerations, only one player has two cards with the team, Lee Magee (#120 and #150). A few cards are somewhat preferred over the others. These include the #150 Magee, the #138 John Dobbs and the #142 Al Halt. Bennie Kauff (card #118) is, at this time, of only moderate interest in spite of his importance to both the team and the Federal League in general.
