Boston's National League franchise was known by several quaint names in the period between the late nineteenth century and 1920. In the Helmar t206 series you will find player subjects spanning the entire period and attached to each of the team names. There are twenty-six cards; nine of these are cards of members of the Hall of Fame. These include Johnny Evers (#38), Joe Kelley (#445), Eddie Mathews (#364), Frank Selee (#500), Ed Walsh (#543), Cy Young (#64) and Rabbit Maranville appears on three different cards (#'s 21, 337 and 365). Maranville's card #21 has a low population (7) and the highest average selling price of any Boston National Leaguer. Other notable cards include George Stallings, the genius manager of the famous 1914 World Championship team. While not particularly sought after, there are few Stallings collectibles in the market at large. Some astute fans will recall that he also hit the first home run in what was to eventually to become known as Tiger Stadium. Other than the Maranville #21 card, this team set should not be overly difficult to complete.
