The Leland Giants, an independent team, were the successor to the Chicago Union Giants. They formed in 1901 and lasted until 1910 when they split into what became the Chicago Giants and the Chicago American Giants. Frank Leland was the owner and manager. It is claimed that during the 1905 season they won forty-three straight games.
Two subjects, both pitchers, appear with the Leland Giants; Will Horn (#472) and Bill Gatewood (#273). Gatewood is the better known player but the Horn card seems to attract more attention and better pricing.
